1. Show HN: I completed shipping my desktop app
URL: https://pimosa.app/
Author: anshrathodfr
Description: Hi, I'm a developer and first time i shipped the real product after observing the startups and indie hackers community for years.
I had made so many useless apps [you should check my website https://ansh.life], but this time I built a very useful product that has a number of super easy-to-use tools in one app for video, music, and photo files. Users can compress, convert, resize, and do so much more with easy-to-use tools.
Background: I developed a frame-by-frame video cropper to upload cropped landscape videos to Instagram Reels. However, it required FFmpeg, and as a noob video editor, I decided to incorporate more user-friendly video tools. I then introduced image and audio tools to maximize the capabilities of FFmpeg. I use my app daily, and it has surprisingly generated a few thousand dollars for me.

3. Show HN: I'm tired of sharing code using PasteBin and Slack, so I made this
Author: moeen-mahmud
Description: Hey developers
I think we're tired of copying and pasting our codes and sharing links using PasteBin, GithubGist, or Slack. What if you could share the codes without copying the link and share them right from your favorite editor? That was the motivation for creating TurboGist.
Right now, it's still in the MVP stage, and I'm trying to gather feedback from developers like you. It's available as a beta in the VS Code Extension store.
Can you guys check this out? It'd help me a lot. You don't need to pay any penny, 100% FREE.
However, I'm working on introducing a self-hosted feature. Besides, a better alternative to PasteBin or GithubGist.
Looking for your input on:
- How this would fit your workflow?
- Must-have features or integrations (e.g., GitHub Gist, PasteBin, etc.)?
- Pain points in your current code-sharing process?
- Do you have features in your mind?
Thanks for reading this.

4. Show HN: AI that generates 3blue1brown-style explainer videos
URL: https://tma.live
Author: zan2434
Description: I've been building prototypes of new AI learning tools for months, but I recently learned that 3blue1brown open sourced his incredible math animation library, Manim, and that LLMs could generate code for it without any fine-tuning.
So I made a tool that automatically generates animated math/science explanations in the style of 3blue1brown using Manim from any text prompt.
Try it yourself at https://TMA.live (no signup required)
or see the demo video here: https://x.com/i/status/1874948287759081608
The UX is pretty simple right now, you just write a text prompt and then start watching the video as it's generated. Once it's done generating you can download it.
I built this because I kept finding myself spending 30+ minutes in AI chats trying to understand very specific concepts that would have clicked instantly if there were a visual explanations on YouTube.
Technical Implementation:
- LLM + prompt to use Manim well, right now this uses Gemini with grounding to ensure some level of factuality, but it works equally well with Claude
- Manim for animation generation
- OpenAI TTS for the voiceovers
- Fly.io for hosting the web app
- Modal.com for fast serverless GPUs to render the videos
- HLS protocol for streaming the videos as they are rendered
Note: This is focused on STEM education and visualization, and it is particularly good for math, but get creative and try it with anything! I used it recently to teach my partner's parents a new board game in Mandarin (which I don't speak!)
I'll be around to answer questions. Happy learning!

5. Show HN: Minimalist task management tool with command line functionalities
URL: https://www.minimado.com/
Author: ziadhussein
Description: Hey all,
I have been building Minimado (spelled mini-meadow) over the past few days It's got a minimalist theme inspired by Project IDX from Google, a command mode where you would use terminal-navigation and shortcuts to use the tool, and it could also be downloaded as a native app for any platform.
Best part? It requires no sign-ups and is completely free. I might add sign-ups and make it optional for account sync purposes.
Play with it and let me know what you think. It's got a "Feedback" link in the bottom left where you can upvote upcoming features and suggest new ones you might think it's missing.
Thanks!

7. Show HN: GX CLI – Automatically stack large PRs to ship faster
URL: https://github.com/maxium-ai/maxium-cli
Author: zachdotai
Description: We built a Git-native CLI tool that automates Git branch stacking. Here's why stacking matters and how GX helps:
Code review is a notorious bottleneck. You write a large PR, wait for review, get feedback, iterate, and wait again - especially painful across timezones. Meanwhile, you're blocked from shipping dependent changes.
Stacking lets you parallelise development and code review by breaking changes into logical and dependent chunks.
Current stacking tools will consider each commit its own PR, but GX will automatically group commits into separate stacks while optimising for structural coherence.
Works without authentication (10 requests/day limit). Email me at zach@maxium.ai for an auth token to override the rate limits.
Would love feedback and contributions from the HN community! This is an early beta focused on making stacking simple and friction-free.

11. Show HN: Sagetalk.ai – I Built an AI Tool to Practice Job Interviews
URL: https://sagetalk.ai
Author: ArtemCodecraft
Description: Hi HN,
A few months ago, I lost my job. It wasn’t just a blow to my finances—it shook my confidence. I had to start interviewing for software engineering roles, but the process felt overwhelming. How do you practice for interviews when you don’t have someone to coach you, and you’re unsure if your answers are even good?
I tried using existing tools, but they didn’t really click with me. They either felt too generic or just didn’t simulate the pressure of a real interview. That’s when I decided to build something myself.
What started as a quick script to help organize my thoughts has turned into Sagetalk.ai. It’s an AI tool that helps you practice job interviews in a way that feels dynamic and interactive.
Here’s what it does:
It creates mock interview questions based on your role and industry.
As interviewer ask questions, it listens and provides live suggestions for improvement.
After each session, it gives feedback on things like tone, clarity, and whether your response really answers the question.
It’s not perfect. There are still rough edges, and I’m figuring out how to make it more useful. But for me, it made a difference. Practicing with this tool helped me feel more confident walking into real interviews, and I think it might help others too.
I’m sharing this here because I know many of you have faced similar challenges, whether as candidates or as builders trying to solve your own problems. I’d love for you to try it and tell me what you think—what works, what doesn’t, what could be better.
You can check it out at sagetalk.ai
Thanks for taking the time to read this. I’m here to answer questions or just chat about job hunting or building projects like this.
Cheers

15. Show HN: I made an app to help you generate creative ideas with AI
Author: fatihp
Description: I wanted to learn how to make a mobile app, so I started with a tutorial series. Once I had the basics, I began brainstorming ideas for what to build. Looking back, I should have started with a problem to solve instead of an idea. But either way, I've realized it's quite hard to come up with something fresh and creative.
That made me wonder - how do professionals whose jobs depend on creativity, like joke writers or marketers, come up with new ideas? I found out that one technique that they use is simply playing with words. And one way of doing that is creating a word chain using free association, then looking back at the words to spark new ideas.
I built an app based on this wordplay and added AI to help with the process. Here’s how it works:
1. Describe your challenge – Briefly explain what you're working on (e.g., “How to create unique toy concepts for 6-12-year-old kids?”).
2. Play with words – Start with any word, then use free association to build a chain. AI can suggest words but it's best to let words flow naturally from your mind.
3. Pick your favorites – Choose the words that stand out to you.
4. Generate ideas – Create ideas using your selected words, or tap them for AI suggestions.
You can see a complete example on the landing page.
I don't think AI will give you groundbreaking ideas and I don't think any LLM can do that yet. But it'll still try to come up with something for any word you use. And this can be helpful, as its suggestions often spark new thoughts in your own mind.
I’m sharing this to see if it offers real value to others. Feedback is appreciated.
Built with Flutter, Firebase, and RevenueCat.
Available on Android and iOS.
Let me know what you think!

20. Show HN: [What I built in 30 mins with Cursor]: Archive.is browser extension
URL: https://github.com/dbuxton/archive-redirect
Author: dbuxton
Description: Many HN submissions have an archive.is link as their first comment because the original submission is paywalled. I used to think, why can't people just pay for subscriptions?
Then I found that the New Yorker - for which I just renewed my print and online subscription! - doesn't seem to recognise my account and so when I click their emails I get a login wall. Infuriating. I asked Cursor to build me a Chrome extension to automatically find the corresponding archive.is link for a given page and 30 mins later, this is the result.
I haven't tried this on many domains but it seems to work fine on New Yorker and a few others. Comments/PRs welcome. This doesn't ship with a list of supported domains as you can configure your own. I don't intend to submit to Chrome webstore but I don't see why they wouldn't accept - their ToS prohibits bypassing paywall extensions and although I think this is "dual use" I don't want to put my developer account with Google out of good standing.
More than anything I wanted to put this out there as a good example of the sort of itch-scratching that previously required several days and can now be done in a few minutes - without writing a single line of code. (I did have to read quite a lot of JS to give the model feedback but no direct edits at all).
Belated Happy NY to all!

21. Show HN: Like Duolingo but for learning EV tech (looking for alpha users)
URL: https://foxev.io/academy/
Author: janosch_123
Description: I build electric cars and am now distilling my knowledge into a duolingo-style learning app for you.
This is my first stab at the Q&A mechanic, a quiz with 10 questions, you then get 3 bars showing you strengths and weaknesses and signup form thereafter (still crude, written today!).
The full app will:
make you traverse a skill tree based on modules & goals like:
- I am interviewing tomorrow to be a Battery Software Engineer and need to cram
- I want to build an electric car
- I want to build a drone from scratch
- I need to understand rapid charging for my job
- ...
The app will have a free tier and then a pro-tier with advanced features. In principle this can scale to "all of STEM" incl. physics, nuclear, chemistry etc., but I am starting with the niche I know of course.
I am quite well plugged into the DIY EV community and have built my own cars, this is how I am sharing what I learnt since 2018.
Now looking for alpha testers, if you are up for that, please fill out the form or email me at hello@foxev.io I would like to bounce ideas off you :)

25. Show HN: GoByHerd.com, I made Crypto's "10 people booked this hotel today"
Author: mgrabina
Description: For 12 months, I've been obsessed with creating growth tools for crypto protocols and it's incredible how many psychological mechanisms that worked in web2 aren't available for their web3 peers. So I built this copy of useproof.com (YC18): https://gobyherd.com
Herd allows crypto protocols to easily showcase their activity (aka 'social-proof', e.g. "$10M swapped today"), automatically indexed from their contracts' events, by copying a one-line script in their sites. No coding, no security or performance risks.
The first AB Tests with early adopters showed a solid 15-50% lift in conversions, as expected.
Want to copy Booking, Venmo, Rappi and many others' strategy?
Here you have an AI-generated demo designed for your site: https://app.gobyherd.com/public/demo?url=YOUR_URL
Reach me out to me at x.com/mgrabina if you need any help or want some months of pro subscription to try it (i have a few left).
I'm excited to hear your thoughts, feedback and I'd love an intro with Dave, Chris or JP from Proof (YC18) in case any of you know them.

26. Show HN: Zero Monitor – Quickly monitor servers
URL: #
Author: freitzzz
Description: Hi HN!
I'm actively building Zero Monitor, a tool to really quickly monitor servers, vms, vps, etc. The main selling point is the overview of resources usage (your typical CPU, RAM, Disk, Rx/Tx), but the tool comes battery charged and also allows you to:
- query system packages
- query network connections (tcp/udp level)
- interface system processes (task manager)
- measure internet connectivity with speedtests

27. Show HN: Knotilus–uncover hidden Fibonacci-like sequences
URL: https://knotil.us/
Author: mdduar
Description: Hi HN,
I'm new to Hacker News, but a friend suggested this would be a great place to share my project and get some feedback.
I’ve been working on Knotilus, a daily puzzle game where the challenge is to find three hidden Fibonacci-like sequences among a set of numbers. Each daily puzzle includes between four and ten possible sequences, and the goal is to identify the three solution sequences that share only one number, the “knot,” while all other numbers in the solution are unique.
I’m a hobbyist when it comes to web design and development, so I built Knotilus as a fun way to learn more about creating web applications while sharing a new puzzle concept.
I built Knotilus using:
Frontend: Vue 3
Backend: Flask
Database: PostgreSQL
Here’s what makes Knotilus interesting:
Daily Puzzle: A fresh challenge every day, a new puzzle is made available everyday at midnight based on the user's timezone.
Customizable Difficulty: Adjust the puzzle level (how many numbers are available to make sequences) and mode (with or without helpful visual indicators). The solution remains the same, regardless of difficulty.
Community Benchmarks: Compare your performance (time, hints used, etc.) with others anonymously. Though this feature depends on whether or not I'm able to draw enough of an audience
Unique Concept: Inspired by Fibonacci sequences, the game offers what I believe is a unique idea for a daily puzzle. Accessible Design: Play directly in your browser, no downloads or installations required.
I’d love to hear what the HN community thinks, would you give it a try? Do you have ideas for improving the gameplay or user experience?
You can check it out here: https://knotil.us/
Thanks for taking a look!

33. Show HN: Liquid Budget – A zero-sum envelope budgeting application
URL: https://www.liquidbudget.com
Author: fatefree
Description: Hello hackers, I built Liquid Budget, a budgeting application as an alternative to YNAB. The core concept is that every dollar is allocated to digital envelopes, and as daily transactions occur you spend from your envelopes and manage overdrafts, almost as if you had micro bank accounts.
Tech stack:
- Frontend: React/TypeScript with Zustand for state and Shadcn/Radix components
- Backend: Java/Spring Boot/MySQL
I built this primarily for users who wanted a cheaper alternative to YNAB with a guarantee of no price increases. Along the way I improved on a number of things such as credit card handling, but the main catch is that there is no automatic bank import for transactions. I understand that's a non-starter for many, but not all people.
I'd love any feedback on:
- Additional features and UX suggestions
- Useful reports to add
And whatever else!

36. Show HN: I built a mongo-express alternative using AI and almost zero coding
URL: https://github.com/AienTech/mongoman
Author: aientech
Description: I wanted to see how far AI could go in building a complete application, so I tasked Claude with creating a MongoDB admin interface similar to mongo-express. I only did quick code reviews and minor improvements, probably around 95% of the code was written by the AI.
For the AI, I used Anthropic Claude Sonnet 3.5. The result is MongoMan (https://github.com/aientech/mongoman), a modern MongoDB admin interface built with Next.js 15.1.2, shadcn/ui, and TypeScript. It features database stats, collection management, document CRUD operations, and index management. It's also containerized and ready to deploy.
The interesting part isn't just that AI has write the code, but how it handled the entire development process: suggesting the tech stack, implementing features incrementally, fixing bugs, and even writing the documentation.
However, although the current version works, I'm now maintaining and improving it myself as the project will grow. I guess this shows both the potential and current limitations of AI-assisted development.
The code is open source, and I've kept the commit history to show the development process. Curious to hear your thoughts on this approach to development and mongoman itself.
Cheers and happy new year!

37. Show HN: All-in-one X (Twitter) growth platform with AI – Snowball
Author: plbompard
Description: Over the past year, I've been working on Snowball.
I was trying to build my own audience on X (twitter) but it was too time-consuming and I wanted to keep building products so I built a tool to help me save time on that.
At this point, it is working pretty good (got to 5k followers in a year), so I wanted to share it with more people and get their thoughts!
I know other solutions exist but none fulfilled my needs (a web app + a deeply integrated chrome extension in the twitter UI with deep AI integration).
So I built my own version of it and am using it everyday for months now.
In short it helps creating content, scheduling it and engaging on the platform to then monetize the audience with automations.
Thanks for checking it out, and sharing any feedback you might have!
